Mole Day

I'm such a nerd I know.

Mole Day is celebrated annually on October 23rd from 6:02a.m. to 6:02p.m. to commemorate Avogadro’s number, a basic unit in chemistry. The date was chosen since 1 mole of a given substance contains 6.02x1023 atoms, molecules or compound units. This number, 6.02x1023 is known as Avogadro’s Number, named after Amedeo Avogadro (1776-1858), who discovered the relationship.

Mole Day was introduced in order to encourage interest in chemistry in high school students throughout the US. It is celebrated by conducting chemistry-related activities.

Now go make a stink bomb or something.
